Tim Allen is an American actor and comedian who rose to fame for his portrayal of the main character Tim 'The Tool-Man' Taylor on the ABC sitcom 'Home Improvement' (1991-99), which won him a 'Golden Globe' in 1995. In 1994, he starred in the top grossing Disney film 'The Santa Clause'. The following year, he lent his voice to Buzz Lightyear in the Disney-Pixar blockbuster movie 'Toy Story'. While the two sequels to 'The Santa Clause' were not well received by fans and critics, the two 'Toy Story' sequels were commercially successful movies.
Other notable movies from his extensive filmography include 'For Richer or Poorer' (1997), 'Jungle 2 Jungle' (1997), 'Galaxy Quest' (1999), 'Big Trouble' (2002), 'Christmas with the Kranks' (2004), 'The Shaggy Dog' (2006), 'Redbelt' (2008), and 'Crazy on the Outside' (2010). The last movie also marks his directorial debut, but was a commercial and critical failure.
In 2011, he returned to television with the ABC sitcom 'Last Man Standing', which ran successfully for six seasons till 2017. He has also appeared on many television shows and telefilms, and has voiced Buzz Lightyear in video games, as well as a number of television specials based on 'Toy Story'.
