Taye Diggs is an American actor and singer who gained recognition for appearing in the Broadway musical 'Rent' (1996) and subsequently appeared on the television series 'New York Undercover' (1996), 'Law & Order' (1996) and 'Guiding Light' (1997). He made his film debut with the 1998 romantic comedy 'How Stella Got Her Groove Back'. Some of his best roles are Eddie Baker in the horror movie 'House on Haunted Hill' (1999), the Bandleader in the musical crime comedy-drama 'Chicago' (2002) and Dr. Sam Bennett in the medical drama series 'Private Practice' (2007-13) – all of which won him awards.
His early filmography included movies like 'The Best Man' (1999), 'Brown Sugar' (2002), and 'Rent' (2005).
