Swoosie Kurtz is an American actress who has earned ten ‘Emmy Award’ nominations during her acting career. Her talent, clearly, speaks for herself. She made her first onscreen appearance on ‘The Donna Reed Show’ in 1962 at the age of 17. However, she made her acting debut in ‘Broadway’ production of ‘Ah, Wilderness’ (1975). Her work in theatre productions such as ‘Uncommon Women and Others’ (1978), ‘Fifth of July’ (1978) and ‘Imaginary Friends’ (2002) earned her numerous ‘Tony,’ ‘Drama Desk,’ and’ Outer Critics Circle’ awards. She made her TV debut in ‘As the World Turns’ in 1971. Her portrayal of ‘Laurie Morgan’ in the TV show ‘Love, Sidney’ (1981-83) earned her first ‘Emmy Award’ nomination. She played ‘Alex Reed Barker’ in the 1991 drama ‘Sisters’ also got her a lot of appreciation. She has also appeared in films such as ‘Dangerous Liaisons’ (1988), ‘Citizen Ruth’ (1996) and ‘Liar Liar’ (1997).
The comedy follows the life of Fletcher Reede, a conniving and lying lawyer whose habits have ruined his relationships. However, things take a funny turn when his son, Max’s birthday wish comes true and Fletcher is unable to lie for an entire day. He eventually realizes his son is his biggest priority and reconciles with his family.
