

Sidney Sheldon was an American writer and producer best known for his best-selling novels, such as ‘ Master of the Game’ (1982), ‘If Tomorrow Comes’ (1985), ‘Nothing Lasts Forever’(1994), and ‘Are You Afraid of the Dark?’ (2004). Sheldon started his career as ‘Broadway’ writer. He won a ‘Tony Award’ in1959 for his work in the musical ‘Redhead.’ After earning tremendous success in ‘Broadway,’ Sheldon tried his luck in films. His first significant project came in 1947, when he wrote the screenplay of the comedy ‘The Bachelor and the Bobby-Soxer, for which he won the ‘Academy Award’ for the ‘Best Original Screenplay.’ Some of his successful films include ‘Easter Parade’ (1948), ‘All in a Night’s Work’ (1961), and ‘The Other Side of Midnight’ (1977). ‘Bloodline’ (1979) is his least successful film script. He also wrote some incredible TV series, such as ‘I Dream of Jeannie’ (1965–70) and ‘Hart to Hart’ (1979–84).

In 1948, Buster Lane, a popular senior in his small town high school, is exasperated with his fiancée Margie Hooks because she refuses to have sex with him. As other students often visit ill-reputed underprivileged girl, Billie-Jo Truluck, Buster also starts meeting her; but soon the two find true love in each other and make together public appearances which irks Buster’s friends.
