Roseanne Barr is an American actress, comedian, writer, and television producer who, starting her career in stand-up comedy at clubs, earned fame for her role in the hit television sitcom 'Roseanne' which ran for nine seasons from 1988 to 1997. Her portrayal of the titular character Roseanne Harris-Conner is considered one of her best roles and earned him an 'Emmy' and a 'Golden Globe Award' for 'Best Actress'. Her most successful show to date, it was revived for an eight episode series in 2018.
Following the success of her sitcom, she executive produced and hosted her own talk show, 'The Roseanne Show', which aired from 1998 to 2000. She hosted 'Roseanne's Nuts' in 2011 and was a judge on 'Last Comic Standing' in 2014-15.
She earned praise for her debut film role as Ruth Patchett in the black comedy 'She-Devil' in 1989. Her later filmography includes a few small roles in films like 'Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare', 'Even Cowgirls Get the Blues', 'Blue in the Face' and 'Cecil B. Demented'. She also voice acted in 'Look Who's Talking Too' and 'Home on the Range', earning a nomination for the 'Golden Raspberry Award for Worst Supporting Actress' for the former.
