American songwriter, singer, actor and producer Ne-Yo first got noticed when he wrote the lyrics for the number ‘Let Me Love You’. His debut album ‘In My Own Words’ was released in 2006 and reached the number one spot on Billboard 200. He went on to release seven studio albums, one compilation album, 16 music videos and 16 singles. He has won three Grammy Awards that are attributed to his second album ‘Because of You’, single ‘Miss Independent’ and lyrics of the song ‘Spotlight’. His third album ‘Year of the Gentleman’ was nominated for Best Contemporary R&B Album at the 2009 Grammy Awards. Many of his numbers have been certified platinum, including ‘Let Me Love You’ from his fifth album ‘R.E.D.’ that sold over two million copies in the US. His next album ‘Non Fiction’ was released in 2015.
Ne-Yo was disappointed when his first single ‘Stay’ failed to make it to the Billboard Hot 100. His fourth studio album ‘Libra Scale’ also was a letdown as it did not sell as many copies as expected.
Ne-Yo has appeared in a number of films and television shows as himself or a guest. His latest album ‘Good Man’ was released in 2017 and fans are looking forward to more.
