

Judi Dench is an English actress. She started her career as a theatre actress, and is best known for playing ‘Ophelia’ in ‘Hamlet’ at the ‘Royal Court Theatre.’ She also played ‘Juliet’ in ‘Romeo and Juliet,’ and ‘Lady Macbeth’ in ‘Macbeth.’ Soon, she found her way into films, and made her film debut in ‘The Third Secret’ (1964). She won her first ‘BAFTA’ for her performance in the film. She rose to prominence in 1966, after her performance in the British film ‘Four in the Morning.’ Her first lead role came in the musical ‘Cabaret’ (1966), which established her career as a film actress. Overall, she has won four ‘BAFTA’ awards,’ an ‘Academy Award,’ for her performance in ‘Queen Elizabeth I’ in ‘Shakespeare in Love’ (1998), two ‘SAG’ awards, and two ‘Golden Globe’ awards in her glorious career. ‘Mrs. Brown’ (1997), ‘Chocolat’ (2000). ‘Philomena’ (2013) and ‘Victoria & Abdul’ (2017) are some of her popular films.Â
