Harvey Weinstein is an American former movie producer. Along with his brother Bob Weinstein, he desired to be a part of the showbiz from an early age. The Weinstein brothers co-founded ‘Miramax,’ an entertainment company that produced a number of successful independent movies including ‘Flirting with Disaster,’ ‘Sex, Lies and Videotape,’ ‘Shakespeare in Love,’ ‘Pulp Fiction,’ ‘Heavenly Creatures,’ ‘The Crying Game,’ amongst various others. He won the ‘Academy Award’ for ‘Shakespeare in Love.’ He also bagged in seven ‘Tony Award’ for an array of musicals and plays that included, ‘The Producers,’ ‘August: Osage Country,’ and ‘Billy Elliot the Musical.’
When they left Miramax, they founded a mini-major film studio named ‘The Weinstein Company.’ From 2005 to 2017, Harvey Weinstein served as the chairman to the firm alongside Bob.
