Dolly Parton is an American singer, songwriter and actress who is considered the most honored female country performer of all time. She began her career writing songs for others, and eventually released her successful country music album 'Hello, I'm Dolly' (1967). As a singer, she has released an incredible 43 solo studio albums, four live albums, two holiday albums, and three Dollywood Exclusive albums.
Throughout her career, she has appeared as a singer on numerous TV shows, such as 'The Porter Wagoner Show' (1967-74), 'Hee Haw' (1970 and 1975), 'Cher... Special' (1978), 'Designing Women' (1990), 'Babes' (1991), 'The Simpsons' (1999), 'Bette' (2000), 'Strictly Come Dancing' (2011) and 'The Bachelorette' (2012). She was the host and performer in two of her self-titled variety shows in 1976-77 and 1987-88.
She started her film career with the successful comedy movie '9 to 5' (1980), for which she received two 'Golden Globe' nominations.
