Claude Akins was an American actor, best remembered for his role as ‘Sheriff Lobo’ on the TV show ‘B. J. and the Bear’ (1979-1981). He reprised this role in the spin-off show, ‘The Misadventures of Sheriff Lobo’ (1979-81). He made his film debut in the 1953 romantic drama ‘From Here to Eternity.’ Some of his popular work came in films, such as ‘Bitter Creek’ (1954), ‘The Caine Mutiny’ (1954), ‘Joe Dakota’ (1957), ‘Porgy and Bess’ (1959), ‘A Distant Trumpet’ (1964), and ‘Seasons of the Heart’ (1993). His list of unsuccessful films includes ‘The Sharkfighters’ (1956), ‘Black Gold’ (1962), ‘The Curse’ (1987), ‘Falling from Grace’ (1992), and ‘Twisted Fear’ (1994).
