

Charles Boyer was a French-American actor, best known for his performance in ‘The Garden of Allah’ (1936), ‘Algiers’ (1938), and ‘Love Affair’ (1939), and ‘Gaslight’ (1944). He earned four ‘Oscar’ nominations for his films, ‘Conquest’ (1937), ‘Algiers’ (1938), ‘Gaslight’ (1944) and ‘Fanny’ (1961). Charles made his screen debut in the hit French film ‘L'homme du large,’ in 1920. Some of his highly successful films are ‘Captain Fracasse’ (1929), ‘Red-Headed Woman’ (1932), ‘Caravan’ (1934), ‘Back street’ (1941), ‘Tales of Manhattan’ (1942), ‘Cluny Brown’ (1946), ‘Barefoot in the Park’ (1967), and ‘The April Fools’ (1969). His unsuccessful films were ‘What a Woman!’ (1956), ‘Lost Horizon’ (1973), and ‘A Matter of Time’ (1976). He made his TV debut in the hit TV series ‘I Love Lucy’ (1956). Some of his popular TV appearances came in ‘Four Star Playhouse’ (1952-56), ‘The Rogues’ (1964-65), and ‘The Name of Game’ (1969).

Howard Brubaker, a Wall Street broker, is successful professionally, but his personal life is not exactly perfect. Oil baron Paul Chadwick, who is also a notorious womanizer, wins a legal case by charming the female judge. The opposing lawyer Michel is infuriated at this, and asks him for a favor in exchange for not exposing him.
