She is best recognized for the popular American variety/sketch comedy television show ‘The Carol Burnett Show’ (1967–78) that brought her immense popularity and several Emmy and Golden Globe Awards. Her other notable works include Broadway production ‘Once Upon a Mattress’ (1959); television series ‘The Garry Moore Show’ (1959–62); and film ‘Pete 'n' Tillie’ (1972).
She may be an accomplished actress with over six decades long career in television, films and theatre, but Burnett too had to strive to cement her position in showbiz.
