American filmmaker, actor and musician, Billy Bob Thornton is best known for his role in the film ‘Sling Blade’ (1996), for which he won the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay. His other award winning performances include ‘A Simple Plan’ (1998), ‘Primary Colours’ (1998), ‘One False Move’ (1992), ‘The Man Who Wasn’t There’ (2001), ‘Fargo’ (2014) and ‘Goliath’ (2017). His film ‘Armageddon’ (1998) was the highest grossing film of the year.Â
He started his career as a drummer and sang for the band called ‘Tres Hohbres’. Thornton has released four solo albums, including his latest album ‘Beautiful Door’. He has also sung with a number of country music bands and appeared in the music video titled ‘Modern Day Bonnie and Clyde’ by Travis Tritt.  Â
His movies ‘London Fields’(2015), ‘The Baytown Outlaws’ (2013) and ‘The Informers’ (2009) did not do well at the box office compared to his other films. He also once came under a lot of criticism for his behaviour during his appearance with his musical group ‘The Boxmasters’ on CBC Radio. Thornton received a star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame in 2004.Â
