Adam Sandler is an American actor-comedian and producer. Starting his career as Smitty on the TV series ‘The Cosby Show’ (1987—1988), the actor found fame after becoming a series regular on ‘Saturday Night Live’ (1990—1995).Â
He appeared in a number of small roles in movies like ‘Coneheads’ (1993), ‘Airheads’ (1994), and ‘Billy Madison’ (1995). ‘Happy Gilmore’ (1996), ‘The Wedding Singer’ (1998), ‘The Waterboy’ (1998), were his first box office successes and ‘Punch-Drunk Love’ (2002) was his first critical hit. Adam Sandler followed that by acting in some of his best and top grossing movies like ‘Anger Management’ (2003), ‘50 First Dates’ (2004), ‘The Longest Yard’ (2005)’, ‘Reign Over Me’ (2007), ‘I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry’ (2007), ‘You Don't Mess with the Zohan’ (2008), ‘Bedtime Stories’ (2008), and ‘Funny People’ (2009).
Adam Sandler has had his share of commercial and critical failures as well. ‘Grown Ups’ (2010), ‘Jack and Jill’ (2011), ‘Grown Ups 2’ (2013), are some of his his worst movies. ‘The Ridiculous 6’ (2015), ‘Just Go with It’ (2011) and ‘Pixels’ (2015), were reviewed unfavorably in spite of major box office success. The actor has received critical acclaim more recently for ‘The Meyerowitz Stories’ (2017).Â
